IMST Parents Privacy Policy

1. Scope

IMST Parents is the mobile parent-access application of International Maarif Schools of Tunisia. The application is technically administered by Chamseddine Hamdeni on behalf of the school. This policy explains how information is processed when an authorised parent or guardian uses the application.

2. Information processed

The current application version processes the following information:

• the parent or guardian email address;
• the school-issued access code used for authentication;
• the parent account identifier;
• identifiers, names, and grade codes of students linked to the authenticated parent account;
• a temporary authentication token and its expiry time.

3. Purposes

This information is used only to authenticate authorised parents or guardians, retrieve the students linked to their school account, display the current application content, maintain service security, and provide technical support.

4. Data transmission and storage

The application communicates with the school service through an isolated HTTPS application programming interface. It does not connect directly to the MySQL database. The application does not intentionally store the access code on the Android device. The temporary session information used by the current prototype remains in application memory and is cleared when the application process ends.

5. Sharing and commercial use

Personal information is not sold. The current application does not contain advertising, behavioural analytics, social-media tracking, or in-app purchases. Information is processed within the school service and may be accessed only by authorised school personnel and technical service providers acting on the school's instructions where necessary to operate and secure the service.

6. Student information

The application is intended for parents and legal guardians, not for use by children. Student information is displayed only after successful authentication of a linked parent or guardian account.

7. Retention, correction, and deletion

School account and student records are retained according to the school's administrative, educational, security, and legal obligations. The application does not create parent accounts. Requests concerning access, correction, restriction, or deletion of personal information may be submitted to the school. Some records may need to be retained where required for legitimate school administration, security, or legal compliance.

8. Security

The application uses encrypted HTTPS transmission and restricts its Android permission request to Internet access. Reasonable organisational and technical measures are used to protect account and student information. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the application functionality or data practices change. The effective date shown above identifies the current version.
